Pastor of Grace Bible Church
October 2006 through June 2011

In August of 2003, Glen Melin retired after 25 years of service as a United States Marine Corps Officer and Naval Aviator. Glen was called to be the Pastor of Grace Bible Church of Corpus Christi, Texas, and was ordained into the Gospel Ministry by Grace Atlanta Bible Church in 2006. Glen was a student at Logsdon Seminary, South Texas School of Christian Studies, Corpus Christi, Texas, in pursuit of a Master of Divinity Degree (MDiv).

Pastor Melin studied from the original languages of Scripture, utilizing the hermeneutic of the literal, normative, historic, and grammatical approach to the exegesis of the divinely inspired Word (Hebrews 4:12). Relying on the mentorship of God the Holy Spirit, Pastor Melin was committed to the accurate communication of Bible doctrine to his flock in execution of the mandates given in the New Testament Epistles to all pastors (1 Corinthians 1:17; 9:16; 2 Timothy 2:15; 4;2). He drew from his academic training in history, 25 years of military service, including actual combat, seminary training in theology and the original languages, and over 30 years of study under a great pastor and mentor who brought theology out of the seminary to his congregation.

On June 28, 2011, Pastor Melin passed away after a sudden illness.

Pastor of Grace Bible Church
August 1971 through March 2002

Rev. James E. Williamson, 69, received the ultimate promotion into Heaven March 23, 2002 to be Face-to-Face with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

James E. Williamson was born March 29, 1932 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and graduated from Ahoskie High School. He was known for his athletic prowess, playing football, basketball, baseball and even running track. He received numerous scholarship offers but settled on Trinidad College in Trinidad, Colorado. He also attended Texas Christian University and Pan American University during his 10+ years of college.

As an expression of his patriotism and pride for his country, Jim served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956, as a Physical Conditioning Specialist. He received an honorable discharge and moved into another phase of life.

At the age of 29, Jim Williamson accepted the grace gift of salvation through faith in the spiritual death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. He understood that salvation is a free gift offered to the entire human race, “not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9)

He went on to attend Dallas Theological Seminary, in order to pursue and ultimately fulfill his Spiritual Gift of Pastor-Teacher.

In August 1971, Rev. James E. Williamson became the pastor of Grace Bible Church. He faithfully and consistently served as the Right Pastor-Teacher of Grace Bible Church, manifesting his love toward his Right Local Church by studying and teaching. In so doing, he exposed his congregation to Divine perspective in life. This Biblical union of Right Pastor-Teacher and Right Local Church extended for 30 years.
